To attract new members, I made a pricing mistake that nearly killed the community I worked so hard to build. I undervalued my community and paid the price.

Workplace Highlights in Central New York

The unemployment rate in the Central New York region was about 3.7% in July 2025, which is well below New York State’s rate (~4.6%) and has fallen over the past year. Private-sector employment has been steadily growing: over the past year jobs in sectors like leisure & hospitality, private education & health services, professional & business services, and trade, transportation & utilities have seen notable gains. One major local driver of economic and job growth is Upstate Medical University, which now supports over 24,000 jobs (directly and indirectly) and contributes billions in economic activity.
