Workplace Highlights in Greater Buffalo, NY
In the 12 months ending June 2025, the Buffalo-Cheektowaga metro area added 2,600 private sector jobs, a 0.5% increase, bringing total private employment to 475,900. Growth was led by: Education & Health Services: +4,000, Leisure & Hospitality: +500, Trade, Transportation & Utilities: +400, However, the metro area experienced a decline of approximately 1,200 jobs in Manufacturing, and a decrease of 600 jobs in Financial Activities. Additionally, Natural Resources, Mining & Construction saw a loss of about 400 jobs.
